Written for owners of Singapore businesses that depend on being found: clinics, salons, studios, shops and service companies. The worked example is a real AI visibility audit we ran for a chiropractic clinic in Bugis.

The short answer

An AI visibility audit in Singapore checks whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI name your business when people ask the questions they ask before they buy. Every answer is written down: your business, a competitor, or nobody at all.

It tells you something your Google ranking can’t: whether the AI tools your customers now use would ever send someone to you. In a real audit of a Singapore clinic, AI named the clinic in 17 of 170 answers and named no business at all in 105.

Key takeaways

  • Ranking on Google and being named by AI are different things. The only way to know the second is to ask the questions and count.
  • A good audit asks dozens of questions in your customers’ own words, on five assistants, grouped by how close the person is to buying.
  • Run it again and you see the work land. Two weeks and two publishing campaigns after our audit, another agency’s check found the clinic named on every question it asked.
  • Asked by name, AI usually knows you. The gap is the questions where the buyer never types your name.
  • An audit is day zero, not a fix. Run the same questions every month so you can see what moves.

What is an AI visibility audit?

More of your customers now open ChatGPT or Google’s AI answer before they call anyone. They type something like “who should I see for back pain that won’t go away” and read two or three names. Most owners have never seen that answer.

An AI visibility audit is the plain way to see it. We collect the questions people ask before they choose a business like yours. We put each one to five AI assistants. Then we write down, answer by answer, who got named.

You can do one question yourself in a minute. The audit does it hundreds of times, the same way each time, so one lucky or unlucky answer can’t fool you.

Said plainly

One AI answer proves nothing. A few hundred answers, scored the same way, show you a pattern you can act on.

Why your Google ranking can’t tell you

Google shows ten links and a map. An AI assistant gives an answer, often with only a handful of names in it. You can be on page one of Google and still be missing from that answer. The assistant builds it from what the wider web says about you, not only from your own website.

We covered the difference between being invisible on Google and simply ranking low in an earlier post. This is the next layer up: whether the AI brings you up at all.

What does an AI visibility audit in Singapore cover?

A full audit has eight parts. Each one answers a question owners ask us on the first call.

  • Buyer questions in your customers’ wordsDozens of questions, from “why does my back keep hurting” to “best clinic near me”, grouped by how close the person is to buying.
  • Five AI assistants, reported one by oneChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers. They often disagree, so a single blended score hides the real gap.
  • Who gets named instead of youEvery competitor the assistants mention, local or overseas, and how often.
  • A brand name check, scored apartA few questions that use your name, to show whether AI knows you at all. They are never mixed into the main score.
  • The real answers, word for wordWhat the assistant actually told the customer, and how it described you when it did name you.
  • Content gapsThe topics your website covers next to the questions people actually ask. Every question with no answer of yours is one handed to someone else.
  • Where the answers come fromWhether each answer came from a live web search or from what the assistant already had stored, which changes where you need to publish.
  • Technical checks, kept in proportionSchema, robots.txt and llms.txt are worth having, but they are a small lever. A tidy site does not decide who gets named.

A real AI visibility audit, page by page

The easiest way to explain the report is to walk through one. Dr Neck Pain is a chiropractic clinic in Bugis, Singapore, and they agreed to let us show theirs. We ran it on 8 September 2026, about a week after we started publishing for them, so it shows the early position before most of that work had been read.

It asked 34 questions a patient might type, plus 6 more that use the clinic’s name, across five assistants. That is 200 checks in total. The 170 answers to the unbranded questions are the ones that count.

The headline number

The first page gives you the answer in five seconds: how often you were named, out of how many.

AI visibility audit for a Singapore chiropractic clinic: named in 17 of 170 AI answers

What it means for youAI named the clinic in 17 of 170 answers. It named a competitor instead in 48. In the other 105, it named no business at all. Those empty answers are the opening: nobody owns them yet.

One real answer, exactly as your customer sees it

Numbers are easy to wave away. A real answer isn’t. This is what Perplexity said when asked for the best clinic for headaches caused by neck problems.

Perplexity answer naming US hospitals, not a Singapore neck pain clinic, for chronic headaches from the neck

What it means for youThe answer named five American hospitals and headache centres. A patient in Singapore reading it would come away with no local name at all.

Who gets named instead

Next comes the list of names the AI gave instead, and how often each one came up. We have blurred the local clinics here. The two at the top are not local.

AI visibility audit table: Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic named more often than a Singapore chiropractic clinic

What it means for youCleveland Clinic came up 27 times and Mayo Clinic 25. Your competition in an AI answer is not only the business down the road. It is whoever the internet talks about most on your topic, wherever they are.

The questions, one row each

Then every question gets its own row, with one mark per assistant: named you, named someone else, or named nobody. The questions are written the way patients actually type. We have blurred them here: they are the clinic’s own plan, and it isn’t ours to hand to its competitors.

AI visibility audit grid of Singapore neck pain questions checked on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI

What it means for youYou can see exactly which questions you win and which you lose, and on which assistant. Claude named the clinic in only 1 of 34 questions, while Gemini and Perplexity did better. The assistants don’t agree, so checking one of them tells you very little.

The name check

Six questions use the business name on purpose, and they are kept out of every other number. They answer a question owners always have: does AI even know we exist?

Brand name check in an AI visibility audit: every assistant recognises the Singapore neck pain clinic by name

What it means for youAsked by name, the assistants knew the clinic 6 times out of 6 and described what it does. So the problem was never that AI didn’t know them. It was that AI didn’t bring them up when a patient hadn’t heard of them yet.

Where the gap sits in the buying journey

The questions are grouped by how close the person is to booking. This is the page that tells you where to start.

AI visibility audit showing where a Singapore clinic is named at each stage, from pain questions to choosing a provider

What it means for youWhen people described their pain, the clinic was named in 1 of 14 questions. When they were choosing a provider, 3 of 6. The early questions are where people decide which kind of help they need, so missing them means missing the shortlist before it forms.

Two more findings in the report are worth knowing, even without a picture. First, the clinic’s own website already covered 33 of the 34 topics. The answers were on the site, and AI still skipped it most of the time. Second, 47 of the answers came from what the assistant had stored in memory, without checking the live web at all. A business only gets into those answers once it is talked about in the places the assistants learn from.

The finding that matters

Having the answer on your own website is not enough.

AI names the businesses it keeps meeting across the web: news sites, videos, podcasts, articles on other platforms. If you are only talking on your own site, you are talking to a room with very few people in it.

Two AI visibility audits, two weeks apart

Here is something we didn’t plan to show. On 23 September 2026, two weeks after ours, another agency ran its own AI visibility audit on the same clinic. Its verdict: named in 100% of the customer questions it asked, time to “defend the lead”.

A lot happened in those two weeks. We kept publishing practical guides on the clinic’s website, and two MultiCasting campaigns went out, putting the clinic’s answers on news sites, video, podcasts and social platforms. So part of that 100% is the work showing up. That is exactly what a second audit is for.

The two reports also asked very different questions, though, so the scores can’t be set side by side as a before and after.

What was checkedThe four-question checkOur audit
How many questions434, plus 6 name checks kept separate
What kind of questions“Best chiropractic clinic Singapore” and three close variationsWhat patients type at every stage, from describing the pain to choosing a clinic in their area
Assistants45, including Gemini
Grouped by buying stageNoYes, so you see where the gap costs most
What it tells you to fixSmall website edits: a heading, the footer, replies to reviewsPublish answers to the missing questions in the places the assistants already read

Four questions that all start with “best chiropractic clinic” test one moment: the patient already knows they want a chiropractor. Most patients start earlier, with the pain. That is where our September audit found the clinic named once in 14 questions, and those are the questions we are watching in the October re-run. Same 34 questions, so any change is real.

The question to ask any audit

How many questions did you ask, and whose words are they in? A short list of “best [service] in Singapore” questions can make almost any established business look safe, or look lost. Ask to see the list before you trust the score.

How to choose an AI visibility audit provider in Singapore

There are now plenty of free checks and paid audits on offer here. Five questions separate a useful one from a sales page.

  1. How many questions, and in whose words?Ask to see the list. A handful of “best [service] in Singapore” questions only tests the last step before booking.
  2. Which assistants, reported separately? All five matter, and they disagree. One score across all of them hides where you are losing.
  3. Does it ask AI, or only scan your website?A site scan can check your code. Only asking the assistants shows who they name.
  4. What will it tell you to do?If most answers come from the wider web, a fix that only edits your homepage won’t reach them.
  5. Will the same questions be asked next month?Without that, you can’t tell progress from a new question list.

Why Singapore brands need an AI visibility audit in 2026

Singapore has a problem most owners haven’t noticed yet. The questions your customers ask are often answered with global names.

The clinic’s audit showed it plainly: two American hospitals topped the list for questions asked by people with neck pain. A regional study published in July 2026, the Asia AI Visibility Index, found the same pattern. It measured more than 40 Singapore brands across five AI assistants. The typical brand was named in about 2% of the questions its own buyers would ask, and 17% were never named at all. It found that Singapore businesses are often up against global names for the big, general questions, not just the competitor down the road.

That is also why the audit is worth doing now. In the clinic’s report, AI named no business at all in 105 of 170 answers. Those answers are not owned by anyone yet. The businesses that start publishing into them first are the ones the assistants will learn to name.

What I tell owners on calls

Owners often arrive with an “AI audit” they were sent that is really a website check: page speed, code, a list of tags to add. That work has its place, and if you have someone doing it, keep them. But it is a small lever. A page scan can’t ask an assistant anything, so it can’t tell you who the assistant names.

The AI companies read the web long before anyone sold “AI optimisation”. What decides whether you get named is how often your business shows up, answering real questions, in the places those assistants read. That is the part of the job most businesses have never done, and it is the part the audit makes visible.

Costs are from published Singapore offers we read in September 2026. They change, so ask each provider what the price covers.

What happens after the audit

An audit on its own changes nothing. It tells you which questions you are missing. The work is putting your answers to those questions in front of the assistants, in the places they already read, and then asking the same questions again.

  1. Pick the gaps that cost mostStart with the questions closest to booking, and the early pain questions where the shortlist forms.
  2. Publish answers where AI readsArticles on your site and on other trusted sites, plus video, audio and social versions, so your name keeps appearing next to the question.
  3. Ask the same questions every monthNarrow questions usually move first. The competitive ones take longer and steady work. The monthly report shows which is which.

What happened for the clinic after its audit

How we know

For Dr Neck Pain we published two practical guides a day for two weeks from early September 2026, then launched their first MultiCasting campaign on 14 September. These are dated captures from a private browser window.

Google AI Overview in Singapore naming Dr Neck Pain Clinic second for best neck pain specialist

Google, Singapore, private window, 17 September 2026. Asked for “the best neck pain specialist”, the AI answer lists the clinic second in its top options, above a medical pain clinic and a private hospital group.

On 22 September a new guide was the first source in Google’s AI answer about two hours after it went live. Search Console tells the same story. The site appeared in Google’s AI answers three times as often in the two weeks after publishing began as in the two weeks before. That came from the guides and the first campaign together.

Two weeks after our audit, another agency’s check found all four assistants it tested naming the clinic for “best neck pain treatment Singapore”. Different questions from ours, so it is a direction, not a score.

AI answers move from day to day, which is why we re-run the same 34 questions every month. The next audit for the clinic runs in October 2026.

Questions owners ask

What is an AI visibility audit?

A check of whether AI assistants name your business when customers ask for what you sell. The questions your buyers ask are put to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI, and every answer is scored: named you, named a competitor, or named nobody.

How is it different from an SEO audit?

An SEO audit looks at your website. An AI visibility audit looks at the answers. One checks speed, pages and links so Google can rank you. The other asks the assistants real questions and records who they recommend. You can pass one and fail the other.

How many questions should an audit ask?

Enough to cover every stage of buying, which usually means dozens. A handful of “best [service] in Singapore” questions only tests the last step. Ours asks around 40, including a few that use your name, which are scored separately.

Is the audit free?

Yes. Request it on our free AI Search Audit page. We run it by hand for your business and category and send you the report, with the real answers inside.

How much does an AI visibility audit cost in Singapore?

Ours is free. Across the Singapore providers we looked at in September 2026, a first check is usually free too. What costs money is the work after it: published prices ranged from do-it-yourself fix packs under S$100 to programmes of several thousand dollars. Ask what the price covers and whether the audit is re-run.

How long does an AI visibility audit take?

An instant check takes a minute. A full audit takes longer, because every answer is read. Ours runs about 200 checks and every answer is read by a person, and we aim to send the report within two working days.

What is the difference between a free AI check and a full audit?

Scale and depth. A quick check asks a few questions on one or two assistants. A full audit asks dozens across five, groups them by buying stage, keeps a separate brand name check and shows the real answers. The quick check tells you if there is a problem. The audit tells you where.

Does an AI visibility audit check schema and llms.txt?

Ours notes them, but they are not the point. Structured data helps a machine read a page it has already found. It does not decide which business an assistant names. What moves that is how often your business shows up, answering real questions, in the places the assistants read.

Can it guarantee AI will name my business?

No, and nobody can promise that. The audit shows where you stand. What changes the answer is publishing, steadily, in the places the assistants read. We control what gets published and we show you the answers every month.

How often should I run one?

Once a month, with the same questions. AI answers change often. Using the same list each time is the only way to see real progress rather than a different set of questions.

Can I check this myself?

You can try a few questions. Log out of ChatGPT or use a temporary chat, then ask “who should I see for [the problem you solve] in Singapore?” and “best [your service] near [your area]”. It is a good first look. The audit does the same thing across five assistants and dozens of questions, which is what makes the result trustworthy.

See who AI names instead of you.

Your questions, five assistants, every answer written down. Free, and you keep the report either way.
